THE ELITE EXECUTIVE DIFFERENCE

CANDIDATE FAQS

Elite Executive work with a range of clients, including many that are long term, to find the right people for their organisations.  There are times where we don’t even advertise for a role, if we have the right candidate who has already engaged with us, meaning that if you aren’t registered you may miss out.

We also work on a wide range of roles, from mid-level management, executive level and even board positions, that are full time, part time, temporary or contract opportunities.   We attract suitably qualified candidates for current opportunities. We are able to really understand your skills, experience and most importantly, what you are looking for in your next role, and assist in communicating this with a potential employer.

If you don’t progress to the next stage with a specific role, we are happy to keep your details on file for any future suitable positions that may arise and we also ensure that we provide honest and transparent communication throughout the recruitment process.

We also provide Career Services, including resume writing and interview preparation support.

Your recruitment consultant will make contact with you if we have a job that is aligned with your skills, experience and what you are looking for.

Initially, your recruiter will register your details and resume on our database and where possible, have an initial phone conversation to establish what type of work you are seeking, your salary expectations and your availability.  This is not always possible in the early stages, but you can be assured that we will be in contact with you when we have the right position for you.

We will always keep in touch with you from time to time to see if you are still in the job market and open to hearing about opportunities with us.  We do ask that if anything changes, you contact us to let us know so we can change paths if needed, or if you found another job and are no longer seeking work, that we are aware and can update your status.

If you apply for a certain role, you will be communicated with from the point you put in your application and the recruitment consultant will keep you updated throughout the process, as appropriate.  We pride ourselves on having open and honest communication with our candidates, and it’s important this goes both ways.

You are able to apply through the relevant job boards by clicking on the apply now button, or you can view the current opportunities and go to the role you wish to apply for.

We also advertise roles via our social media channels – LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram so be sure to keep an eye out.

One-way digital video interviews are becoming more common, where candidates are asked to pre-record answers to specific questions as part of the initial screening process.

It’s important to prepare for these interviews, just the same as you would for any other interview.

  • Don’t skip the instructions – ensure that you read through any instructions provided – things such as a deadline to complete the interview completed will be provided.
  • Internet Connection – simple, yet essential. We suggest doing a test for your internet connection prior to commencing the interview.
  • Choose your space wisely – ideally somewhere quiet with an appropriate background (or use a digital one), good lighting and zero distractions.
  • Dress professionally – just because it’s the initial screening, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t dress the part – suit jackets are optional but a smart and professional look is a must.
  • Be aware of the angle – sitting your phone on the table tilting up to record your answers may not look as professional as you are hoping. Set up your recording device higher up on a stand, this will help you get the filming angle you need.
  • Re-takes and time limits – be aware of how many retakes you can do, as many interviews will give you at least one retake. Also, most of your answers will have a time limit on them, so be sure to wrap up your response before it runs out as your video will cut off.
  • Preparation time – many questions will have a 30 second buffer before recording starts – keep a pen and notepad handy to write down ideas for your response.

Finally, be confident and personable – this is an opportunity for you to show, face to face, that you would be a great fir for the position and the organisation connected to it.

Yes, we welcome expressions of interest from candidates with experience across a variety of fields. If you register your interest, we will maintain your details in our database, to be matched for future openings.

You can upload your resume, and one of our consultants will be in touch.
