A successful month and a half of working from home is set to come to an end for this Cairns business owner, who’s ready to return to the office.
A SUCCESSFUL month and a half of working from home is set to come to an end for Elite Executive Recruitment director Eva Grabner, who’s ready to return to the office.
Ms Grabner and her team of two began working remotely late March and plan on returning to their Scott St office on May 25.
Ms Grabner established the business eight years ago and worked from home for the first five.
“It wasn’t too difficult making the switch because I was already so used to it,” she said.
“It’s been great because I feel like I’ve gotten so much more work done. There isn’t all those questions coming in like there would at the office.”
The single mother-of-one said working from home had provided benefits away from her desk as well.
“I just have the school run for my son, but I save a lot of travel time too. I noticed my fuel card account was about a quarter of what it normally is and I was looking at my bank balance the other day – I think I’ve saved a couple hundred dollars from being at home more, avoiding all those coffees.
“But I’m really looking forward to returning to the office and being around people. I think that human interaction is very important.”
